Ramadevi Public School joyfully celebrated “No Bag Day” on September 19, 2025, with the vibrant theme of “Cultural Spirit of Telangana.” The event was organized for students of Classes 3, 4, and 5 and was filled with hands-on cultural activities that promoted creativity, collaboration, and awareness of Telangana’s rich heritage.
Students across all classes actively participated in the Bathukamma festivities. They brought or created beautiful floral stacks and enthusiastically danced to traditional folk songs, embracing the essence of Telangana's iconic festival.
Floral Rangoli: Students from Classes 4 and 5 created intricate and colorful rangoli patterns using flower petals, leaves, and natural materials. Urli Decoration: Class 4 boys decorated metal or clay bowls (urlis) with floating flowers, showcasing their creativity. Leaf Toran Making: Students crafted beautiful garlands using leaves, thread, and scissors to decorate their classrooms.
Poster Making: Class 5 students designed posters themed around Bathukamma and Dussehra, expressing the cultural essence through art. Telangana Theme Collage: Class 3 students prepared collages using cutouts and drawings to represent Telangana's traditions. Drawing and Coloring: Students from Class 3 illustrated colorful images of rangolis and Bathukamma on A4 sheets.
The spirit of the celebration was amplified by traditional Telangana folk songs, which students listened to and sang along. Storytelling sessions introduced students to the significance and origin of Bathukamma, enhancing their cultural understanding.
Across all grades, educational videos were shown to provide insights into the cultural significance of Dussehra and Bathukamma, linking visual media with experiential learning.
